This year, artist Rolf Bürger personally installed the artwork "Metamorphosis," commissioned by JOEST, in front of the company's new building. The piece impressively illustrates the transformation of raw materials into high-precision machines.

The art installation "Metamorphosis" on the JOEST premises powerfully symbolizes the transformation process from raw ore into high-precision stainless steel machines. The installation consists of three prominent steles, each representing a significant step in this development.

The first stele, an imposing stone stele, symbolizes the ore. With its rough, natural form, it embodies the rawness of the material. This stele is made of two parts and highlights the elemental foundation from which everything else arises.

The second stele is made of corten steel, a material known for its rusty surface. This rusted texture symbolizes the transition from ore to steel. With its rough and unpolished appearance, the corten steel stele represents the intermediate steps of refining and processing. It consists of four parts and points to the still imperfect state of the steel before it is further processed into a high-precision material.

The third and final stele is made of stainless steel and represents what JOEST has perfected: high-precision, expertly crafted stainless steel machines. This stele consists of eight parts and is impressive with its highly polished surfaces. The stainless steel plates are mounted 3 mm apart on a red stele, allowing the company's signature color to shine through the gaps. This detail emphasizes not only the precision and craftsmanship of the company but also its identity and brand.

Each element of this installation has been meticulously conceived and artistically designed by Rolf Bürger to reflect the journey of the raw material from its natural form through the industrial processing stages to the perfection of the final products. "Metamorphosis" is not just a work of art, but also a proud symbol of JOEST's innovation and craftsmanship.

This impressive composition of stone, corten steel, and stainless steel highlights the transformation and refinement processes that occur in production, inviting the viewer to experience the beauty and complexity of this development. The artwork conveys a deep appreciation for the materials and processes that are central to modern industry and adds a visual accent that celebrates JOEST's innovation and product quality. With "Metamorphosis," Rolf Bürger has created an artwork that strikingly captures the essence of progress and precision.
