Discharge Height and Widths

When designing our lifting and tipping devices, there are virtually no limits regarding machine width and discharge height. All standard units can be adapted in width and height to suit the specific application. Discharge heights of up to 15,000 mm and container widths of up to 3,000 mm can be realized.

Gentle Product Tipping

In many applications, the product must be tipped gently to avoid damage to workpieces or to reduce noise levels during the tipping process. This is achieved in various ways. For example, contact surfaces can be coated with PUR to cushion the fall.

In addition, there are several measures to reduce the drop height. We use closure lids in the load-carrying devices. With the lid closed, the load-carrying device moves the container into the discharge end position, while the bulk material remains on the lid. By slowly opening the lid, the material is discharged gently.

DESIGN

Low-Dust Tipping / Drum Tipping

When batching, filling, or transferring powders, bulk materials, or toxic products, effective sealing is essential to prevent dust generation. First, the positioned container must be secured and sealed; second, the interface at the transfer point must be sealed. This can be achieved by using completely enclosed or encapsulated load-carrying devices, or lifting floors, where the containers are raised against a seal after positioning. On the discharge side, closure flaps or slides are used, which open only after docking. In the discharge position, automatic docking to a dedusting system can also be provided.

Food Industry Version

Our lifting and tipping devices are also used in various areas of the food industry. For these applications, our units are designed in a Clean Design construction, in compliance with special welding standards. The machines are manufactured either partially or entirely from stainless steel, with electrical components also made from stainless steel and suitable for high IP protection classes. In addition, use in ATEX zones 1 / 2 is possible after inspection.

Inclined Head

In many cases, the discharge point is not located directly behind the lifting and tipping device, or the discharge needs to extend over a side wall to achieve central filling without the use of chutes or slides. In such cases, we can incline the head of the machine stand by up to 30° to move the load-carrying device diagonally forward to the discharge point. This increases the horizontal distance between the lifting and tipping device and the discharge line.

DESIGN

Mobility

All our standard units can also be offered as mobile or movable solutions. This may be required for various reasons, for example, feeding a production line at multiple points, emptying containers into different bins, loading blasting systems, or manually moving the unit for maintenance purposes. The machines can be moved along the X or Y axis either motorized on rails and bogie wheels or manually for lighter systems. During the design phase, particular attention is always paid to securing the working area, which is individually adapted to the specific application.

DESIGN

Automatic Container Feeding / Container Buffer

Our lifting and tipping devices are used in production lines where short cycle times and high availability are required, directly integrated into an automated process. For these applications, we offer solutions with automatic container feeding systems. The load-carrying device itself can be equipped with a roller or chain conveyor to draw in the containers. Upstream of the lifting and tipping device, two-level container buffers can be installed, with full containers buffered at the bottom and emptied containers discharged at the top. The lifting and tipping device operates as a stand-alone batching system and automatically retrieves the next container from the buffer as required.

DESIGN

Container Feeding

In most cases, containers are fed to the lifting and tipping device from the front, but side feeding from the left or right is also possible. The entire feeding section is adapted precisely to the customer’s method of delivery (forklift, AGV, hand truck, etc.) and the containers used. Access is safeguarded with protective doors, safety light grids, high-speed doors, etc.

DESIGN

Container Securing

During the tipping process, the container must be securely fixed in the load-carrying device. This can be done with welded holding angles for a simple, fixed setup, or automatically/adjustably when a wide range of container sizes needs to be handled. For example, containers can be held laterally by a hydraulic or pneumatic clamp, big bags can be supported by holding frames, trolleys with forks, pallets with side panels, or octabins with crossbars, etc.

Immersion / Lowering in Tipping Position

With our heavy-duty MDS series, after reaching the 180° tipping angle, an additional travel movement of up to 250 mm downwards can be performed. This allows immersion into the downstream unit, usually vibrating trough conveyors, and in combination with the closure lid, enables further reduction of the drop height for workpieces.

INDIVIDUAL

Options and Accessories

A wide range of options and accessories is available for all lifting and tipping devices. For example, units can be equipped with automatic chain lubrication, special paint finishes in almost any RAL color, container weighing systems, locking pin safety devices for securing the load-carrying device, maintenance platforms at the machine head, PLC control, fill level monitoring, and more.
