Scalping screens primarily serve to provide relief to the crushers. The fine particles are separated out to a great extent from the feed material.
In terms of the overall throughput of a system, this reduces wear and tear and therefore the energy required to drive the crusher. Depending on the task, the hopper discharge and scalping screen can be designed as individual machines or complete units. If an individual machine solution is installed, the scalping screen feed is handled by a JOEST ExtroVib hopper discharge system or a vibration feeding machine. In a complete unit, the feed material is taken from a hopper or a pile with a machine and separated directly.
